All-American MTB Action Trips Advice - Especially for Beginners
The Voice of Reason, and a LittleExperience :)
MTB Action Trips - Should you be participating in the San Juan Howler or Guatemala's El Reto or Costa Rica's La Ruta for the very first time, we have collected some nice pieces of info from seasoned MTB participants to help your expectations.
A great tip for first-time MTB riders is to ride for fun, get in shape, and share those good times with friends-but leave the competitive side out of it! Be "in the moment" when you're out there, and be sure to take in all the beauty of nature that surrounds you. MTB Action Trips - This comes straight from Manny Manuel Prado, the 2009 winner of Costa Rica's world famous La Ruta de los Conquitadores.
MTB Action Trips - Your first Central American epic or multi-stage race is more about the journey than the destination, unlike serious MTB racers gunning for the finish line. (And it's just as relevant when it comes to other races.) Howler course designer Anthony Ippolito always like to say, "Have fun!" That's why we do it!Get ready!
MTB Action Trips - It is vital to come prepared mentally and physically to race your best. And return home with unforgettable and also inspiring MTB action to rival any X-Games racer's on ESPN-TV!
Anthony would like to remind everyone, "Be sure to train at all heart rate zones because in a race like Howler, you will use all of them."
Rob Thomas is a Howler racer, event sponsor, and volunteer course constructor that would like for people to know, "This course is hell on tires." To be prepared, riders need to have with them a patch kit or extra tubes. It is very common for riders to have problem of punctures regularly. I get punctures here and there even though I ride with thick tubes, tire lines and Armadillo reinforced tires.
Rob and the Howler course construction team collaborated with some rare topographical maps to create this course. Some trails were connected by us. MTB Action Trips - Campesinos who live and work in the jungle use footpaths to reach their homes. That is why we also used some of those. We came to a part that we could not connect, so we went at it with machetes. And hacked our way through many hundred yards of jungle. However, a couple of our men hacked into a bee's nest. It was a shock to witness them running and screaming - with a gang of bees coming right behind them! It was recollected by Rob. Also count on Howler monkeys cheering you.
"Be humble, for the worst thing in the world is of the same stuff as you; be confident, for the stars are of the same stuff as you." - La Ruta, this year's defending champion. Manny Prado's first La Ruta effort back in 2004 resulted in a 44th place finish. He placed 13th in the 2006 event. In the race in 2007, he came in 10th place. He was crowned La Ruta champ in 2009.
And what is our opinion? Don't accept failures; instead, continue to practice. Is there anything else that you want to add? More mountain bike action sharing
