Anthony Ippolito loves this unique course. This world-class racer and lead monkey course-setter enthuses "Nicaragua is known for it's untouched, raw landscape - and this course takes full advantage of the diversity in the surrounding terrain, and you only have to go five minutes outside of San Juan to find some really amazing stuff!"
San Juan del Sur, a smallfishing village in Nicaragua is the 'spot' to return to every year for the Howler. The only female racer in 2009 from Vancouver, B.C., Canada said "Not only did we enjoy the experience if biking in Nicaragua and competing in the race, but it was a great opportunity for us to build the mountain bike scene here". "Getting involved with the race while we were vacationing here really allowed us an opportunity to give back.
