Smaller airports receive light aircrafts with certain monthly frequency. These airports are located in the south, in San Carlos' City, Rio San Juan; in the zone of the Mining Triangle (center of the RAAN); in the north east part of Nicaragua along the Caribbean, in the city of Port Heads (or Bilwi); and in the south zone of the Caribbean, in the city of Bluefields.
The Department of Migration and Foreigneres (DGME), is the Government department entrusted of regulating the laws and taxing of the passengers that travel in and out of Nicaragua on business, family or tourist trips. - The only exceptions are for the citizens of the countries of the CA-4 Agreement (Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua), together with his or her documents of identity.
Central migration is also responsible for issuing exit visas Nicaraguans under 18 years of age. The document requirements are: Birth certificate, Passport with at least 6 months of force, notarized permission signed by the parents of the minor before an attorney, Plus a photocopy of the parents’ identification. Nicaraguans 18 years or older do not require an exit visa. To travel out of the country, resident and non-resident foreigners in Nicaragua will need an exit visa. The visas are granted by the Department of Migration and Foreigners, where you must show your valid passport or residency card. Foreigners will have to present the Request of Visa form and pay: 1. Single Exit Visa: C$ 70.00; 2. Multiple Exit Visa (three months): C$ 200.00; 3. Multiple Exit Visa (six months): C$ 400.00. Non-resident foreigners who remain thirty (30) days or less in the country and non-resident foreigners of category "A" countries who remain ninety (90) days or less in the country, do not need Exit Visas.
