Customs Regulations Nicaragua,
- In all cases it is very important that shipper be present before arrival of shipment to make sure all necessary documents are in order to begin customs procedures without any delays. The following information applies only for USED household goods and personal effects. CUSTOMS REGULATIONS NICARAGUA - GENERAL HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS SHIPMENTS. Documents Required: · Passport copy. · Original packing list. · Original B/L, AWB or Inland Transportation Document. In this case the household goods will be inspected by Nicaraguan customs authority and shipments are subject to will pay duties and taxes. CUSTOMS REGULATIONS NICARAGUA - THE FOLLOWING SHIPMENTS MAY APPLY FOR TAX EXONERATION: DIPLOMATIC SHIPMENTS. Documents Required: · Original Tax Exoneration Document. · Passport copy. · Original Packing list. · Original B/L, AWB or Inland Transportation Document. We strongly recommend the accredited diplomat arriving to Nicaragua with enough time before arrival of shipment so they can obtain all the documents required. Diplomatic shipments are not subject to customs inspections as long as there are reciprocal relations with the country they represent. CUSTOMS REGULATIONS NICARAGUA - RETURNING NICARAGUAN CITIZENS. Documents Required. · Migratory certification by Nicaraguan Consulate in country of residence. · Migratory certification from Migration Office in Nicaragua demonstrating length of stay outside the country. · Original packing list. · Original B/L, AWB or Inland Transportation Document. · Copy of Passport (main page and last entry to the country) According to current legislation, tax exoneration for household goods applies only to returning citizens who have been out of the country for more than 24 months before their definite return. Shipments may be inspected by customs. CUSTOMS REGULATIONS NICARAGUA - RETIRED FOREIGNERS. They can introduce household goods and personal effects plus an automobile free of taxes. Documents Required: · Original tax exoneration issued by Nicaraguan Customs Authority. · Original packing list. · Original B/L or AWB. · Copy of Passport. · Copy of Nicaragua Residence Identification. To apply for tax exoneration, the shipper must already have Nicaraguan Residence Identification. Shipments may be inspected by customs. CUSTOMS REGULATIONS NICARAGUA - VEHICLES: Automobiles manufactured before 1997 are prohibited for import into Nicaragua. Documents Required: · Original B/L. · Original vehicle property title. · Registration card. · Original purchase invoice or original sales contract. · All of the above should be under importers name. The customs requires a certification authenticated by Nicaraguan Consulate in origin country.This rule applies not only for particulars but also diplomatic person.Our service concludes at the moment that the owner withdraws the vehicle from our warehouse.Any later problems with the Transit Police will be responsibility of the owner.All vehicles are subjected to payment of duties, except those belonging to diplomats. PETS. · Certified vaccine record. · Certified veterinarian certificate from origin. · Original Permit from Ministry of Agriculture. *DUE TO A LEGAL DISPUTE THE INTRODUCTION OR IMPORT OF VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BY LAND ROVER IS PROHIBITED. IMPORTANT NOTICES TO EXPEDITE CUSTOMS CLEARANCE AND AVOID FINES. -
Customs clearance procedures can not begin without all the documentation mentioned above, any extraordinary charges for demurrage of container and/or in-bond storage due to lack or absence o documents, will be billed to shipper directly. -
The number of items or cartons declared on any shipping documents must be the same as declared on the packing list otherwise there will be a US$100.00 fine that will be billed directlyto the origin agent. -
All shipments, except diplomatic shipments, will be unloaded in a Bonded Warehouse for their inspection. -
All appliances and electronic devices must be listed in detail with brand, model and serial number. -
Hand written packing lists are not accepted and they have to be made in either Spanish or English. -
In all cases payment of import taxes, port charges, and container demurrages, in bond storageor any other extraordinary charges will have to paid in advance to Mudanzas Mundiales, S.A. RESTRICTED ITEMS. · Foods · Medicines. · Vegetable and animal based products. · Weapons. · Gunpowder. · Chemicals. · Radio and telephone equipment. · Pornography. · Land Rover automobiles. ITEMS SUBJET TO PAY DUTIES AND TAXES. · All except items intended for school use. PROHIBITED ITEMS. · Drugs. · Toluene (Glue)
